Advantages of Mitsubishi Ductless Heating and Cooling Systems

Most people have heard of ductless heating and cooling systems, and they have probably seen these linear indoor devices installed high on walls in homes, restaurants or office buildings. But do you really know the benefits of these systems?
- Flexible: Mitsubishi ductless systems give installers, contractors and homeowners flexibility when deciding on how to heat and cool a home. The most popular installations are comprised of a small outdoor unit and one or more indoor units mounted on the wall (Wall Mount), flush in the ceiling (Ceiling-recessed Cassette) or sitting on the floor (Floor-mounted). The latest technology will allow us to connect that small outdoor unit to an air handler (Multi-position ducted). This is a perfect solution during a new construction project to heat and cool larger zones or the entire floor. The ducted air handler system also gives us another option when replacing a traditional style HVAC in a home.
- Saves Money: One of the biggest reasons why homeowners install a Mitsubishi ductless system is the overall operation cost. Mitsubishi’s Inverter – driven compressor technology automatically adjusts to the changing conditions in a home to deliver ideal comfort very efficiently. This is different from conventional systems, which will start and stop repetitively, wasting energy. The availability of multi-zone outdoor units allows us to give homeowners the option to create zones in their homes, which means you no longer need to heat or cool a room that is not occupied. Summertime cooling bills can be cut by up to 40% when cooling a home with a Mitsubishi HVAC system.
- Improves Indoor Air Quality (IAQ): Mitsubishi ductless units will give you healthier air in your home. If allergies and asthma are problems in your home, a ductless system can help. Ductless systems offer multi-stage filtration that can drastically reduce dust, bacteria, pollen, allergens and other particles in the air. The Inverter technology on a ducted system (traditional metal duct-work throughout the home) with the help of a MERV 11 or MERV 16 can also provide healthier air in a home. The various speeds of the compressor allow for longer run times. When air is constantly moving in the home, it allows these particles to be pulled back through your return duct and trapped by your filter. SchagrinGAS Heating and Air installs MERV 11 filters at each ducted unit as a standard. MERV 11 and MERV 16 filters typically need to be changed twice per year and can be done during your bi-annual prevented maintenance visit.
- Reduces Building Footprint: SchagrinGAS Heating and Air has also found the “footprint” to be a huge benefit during a new construction process. Builders, architects and homeowners are looking to maximize the square footage of their homes, but sometimes must deal with setback issues. The Mitsubishi outdoor unit are only 13” deep, so they can easily be installed on the side or back yard without worrying about protrude into city or town setbacks. Mitsubishi ductless (no duct-work) indoor units can be installed on the wall, ceiling or floor, eliminating duct-work and bulkheads throughout the home.
