Dear Dave:

I want to begin by saying “Thank You” to your excellent team that helped make our architectural plans come to life. I must admit that McNeill Baker Design Associates entered into the design of Seagate in Rehoboth Beach with some trepidation, because the site was so far from our office. One of the most important parts of the design process is administering the contract and improving the actual work.

My staff started searching for builders that would meet with us in Rehoboth. After weeks of reviewing websites, doing phone interviews and scheduling appointments, we chose a slate of four builders. Following an early morning drive and grueling eight-hour day of interviews with four different companies (and a drink at the bar!), we set the ranking to bid the project: Turnstone was our top choice to recommend to the client.

From our first meeting with the team until today, I continue to be amazed at the level of detail, the amount of communication and the transparency that was provided to both our firm and the client. You are certainly unrivaled in the industry.

Over the entire course of the build, I knew that help or answers to any question was only a phone call away. Although I once worry about trying to manage the project from afar, my concerns disappeared the further we progressed. It was clear that my trips to the beach were perfunctory, becoming more about face-to-face time with the people who were building the house rather than checking on their work. Our meetings and phone calls took on a collaborative atmosphere and the final product is the better for it. When I walked the house, there was rarely anything I had to point out. Matt was on top of it all and had either recommendations or solutions that simply needed my approval.

From an architect’s perspective, this was the perfect build with the right team. Just as we had designed our clients dream home, Turnstone’s team was not just building a house, they were building their “dream home”.

Regards,

James Baker

President
